This is the shape of the head of the frame. The slightly square headed shape is a unique design. Yonex has designed this to help keep the vertical strings at a similar length of the horizontal strings. As a result this helps in producing an expanded sweet spot in all directions. Yonex created this rather uniquely shaped cap. It helps maximizes the racket shaft performance. The front allows the shaft to flex, while the sides arch-shaped curve stabilizes the racquet face by preventing the shaft from twisting. The control support cap provides an 88% wider flat surface compared with an ordinary racquet for easier gripping, fast follow-through and the sharpest manoeuvrability.
The Yonex Astrox range benefits from this unique Counterbalanced Weight Distribution. Yonex have achieved this by applying the counterbalance theory. The way this is achieved is by having the frame weight distributed throughout the grip end and frame top and the joint of the frame. As a result it provides players maximum control in their respective shots. Players will be able to transition to the next shot more smoothly, with quick succession.
Aerodynamic contouring of the top of the frame helps minimizes air resistance. As a result the air flows faster across the curved surface during the swing. A world-first, new dimension graphite material. Using Namd, greatly improves the adhesion of the graphite fibers and resin. This is done by attaching the nanomaterial directly to the graphite fiber. In high performance racquets, it is common to combine nanomaterials with resin that connects graphite fibers However in Namd, nanomaterials are directly adhered to the graphite fibers and resin is greatly increased. This major improvement produces a shaft that flexes and stores energy, delivering explosive force on impact with the shuttle.
On testing the ASTROX 6 badminton racket, we found it to be very effective from the back of the court. This is because this frame benefits from the Counterbalanced Weight Distribution. As a result it gave the player that extra stability when attacking from the front foot. Our double players found it to be very effective at the net, as it provided good stability on the net shots.
